Tommasi Classico Amarone Della Valpolicella 2006
Black cherry, fruitcakes, dark spices and brooding mystery. Full-bodied and velvet smooth. Lovely, lovely, lovely. Amarone Della Valpolicella food pairings: succulent stews, roasts.

|Deep black almandine with black reflections and almandine rim. The bouquet is fairly rich, with candied red berry fruit supported by brandied accents and some cedar. Pleasant. On the palate it’s ample and quite sweet, with clean bright plum fruit supported by deft berry fruit acidity and by smooth sweet tannins that flow into a clean bright plum fruit finish. An elegant, fairly sweet expression of Amarone. Pleasant, and will also age nicely for a decade or more. Score: 2 (out of 3) Source: Kyle Phillips, Italian Wine Review|
