This luscious wine was barrel-fermented and aged 12 months in French oak. It offers seductive aromas of green apple, Asian pear, baking spices, toasted bread. It is medium- to full-bodied, elegant, fresh and crisp. Chardonnay food pairings: cheese, salads, fish and seafood, and poultry are all possiblities with this wine. Try topping a salad with grilled chicken, or baking a fillet of trout and serve on a bed of herbed rice. This Tawse Winery Inc. Sketches of Niagara Chardonnay 2009 was reviewed by January 3, 2012 Natalie MacLean

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
This is mid weight, nicely textured and brimming with charm and flavour. Sweet vanilla, spiced tropical fruit and nutty wisps on the nose, it delivers a well-balanced, crisp and refreshing mouthful of green apple, ripe pear along with mouthwatering lemon and lime citrus. It finishes in a lengthy blaze of lip-smacking flavour with nutty, oaky nuances and pours well. Score: 4 (out of 5) VH
