Full-bodied, richly textured and creamy with aromas of green apple, toasty oak and vanilla smoke. Superb! This Rosehall Run Cuvee County Chardonnay 2010 was reviewed by July 30, 2012 Natalie MacLean

The 2010 season will be remembered as one of the hottest in recent memory and our earliest harvest ever at Rosehall Run. The Chardonnay pick began under gloriously clear skies the last week of September and continued with near perfect conditions until its conclusion just before Thanksgiving. All fruit was sourced from Hillier clay limestone vineyards in PEC. Brix readings between 22.5 and 24.5 ensured good body yet, somewhat remarkably, there is a great beam of acidity that supports all that ripe fruit-likely due to the cool overnight temperatures. Ferment and elevage took place in French oak for about 14 months mostly in 500 L puncheons, about a third new wood. Subsequently the cuvee selection was blended into stainless steel and allowed to marry for another 3 months prior to bottling.
