Gorgeously tart cherries with redcurrant and cranberry notes. Silky smooth and seductively long. Amazing value for the price. In fact, I often pick up a case of this pinot so as never to be out of a mouth-watering, food-friendly wine for dinner. Love it! Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
Malcolm Lamont rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: Very thin and purple appearance for this young 2011. Earthy, sour cherry, and a bit of that desirable barnyard aroma, also very warm and complex on the nose. The sour cherry really powers through on the palate with the earthy tones moving to the background. Very few tannins and still some heat on the palate with a lingering sour cherry finish. Would be curious to see how this cellars.
Deep garnet. Pronounced spicy floral notes can be found on the nose and on tasting we have a wine which is powerful and round yet with balanced tannins. On the palate, fruity flavors of raspberry and spice reveal themselves. Bourgogne Pinot Noir is the regional appellation and the fruit can come from any part of Burgundy. At Maison Louis Latour we select only the best grapes from the best vineyard plots to make this "cuvée" which represents quality and value for money. This wine exhibits the characteristics of the great red Burgundies. Noble and full, it has a resplendent colour combining grace with vigour and associating strength with finesse. On the palate fresh raspberries are in evidence when the wine is young.
