|This wine won a Gold Medal at the 2009 Mundus Vini competition in Germany. Catarratto is a white grape native to Sicily, grown widely along its western coast and on the island of Marsala. It is the second-most cultivated white wine variety in Italy after Trebbiano. In the past, it was only used in the making of Marsala, but it has found its place as a single-varietal table wine. Hallmark characteristics of Catarratto are peach and nectarine fruit aromas and flavours. A lovely aperitif.|
