Black Hills Estate Winery Nota Bene 2005
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: September 11, July 26, September 12 and March 7.

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
|Valerie Stride WSET ADV rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:|
The 2nd best choice at the Nota Bene Vertical Tasting in October 2013, this vintage is ageing nicely, and drinking nicely now, too. Imagine a lightly rained forest floor, wet black tea leaves, a hint of tobacco and dried red fruits. Dusty spices are present, as well, and complement the soft tannin structure perfectly. Made from Cabernet Sauvignon (43%), Merlot (37%), and 20% Cabernet Franc, this wine holds its own at 14.6%. Earthy goodness. Black fruit goodness. I agree with Black Hills' comment about this wine being "harmonious".
