Vintages Wine Panel: Requingua’s location near the Andes and the Pacific Ocean results in a climate with dramatic differences between day and night temperatures. A south wind, however, keeps summer temperatures from extreme heat. This Merlot combines bright red fruit aromas with notes of spice. It’s full-bodied, with unobtrusive tannins which perfectly balance its full-forward fruit and lead to a charming, strawberry-flavored finish. My note: A simple but ultimately satisfying red with flavors of dark red berries and plums that ripple through it. Smooth and full-bodied. This is a party pleaser to buy by the case.

Merlot food pairings: cotechino pork, turkey sandwiches, partridge, meatballs, parmesan cheese.
