Reviews and Ratings

Love the mature tertiary aromas coming through on this Rioja red wine: truffles (the fungi kind, not chocolate), violets, old leather, cigar box and dried herbs with dusty earth. Not fruit-forward, but balanced and smooth and full-bodied. Some thyme and vanilla smoke on a long finish. Highly recommended. MINE: The red wine blend is mostly Tempranillo grapes, with some Mazuelo and Graciano grapes. The wine was matured in French and American oak barrels for 2 years before bottling. The 2004 vintage was a such a strong one for this Gran Reserva. Finishes with attractive dried herbs. OTHER: Deep ruby red with a savoury leathery intensity plus baked black cherry and hints of tobacco. Accessible tannins with well integrated acidity. A perfect wine to pair with game meats. Score - Silver Medal (Tasting panel, International Wine Challenge, 2016). - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
