Vintages Wine Panel: A Silver Medal winner at the 2009 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. This Syrah features a wonderful collection of aromas and flavours, including blackberry, raspberry, dark chocolate and vanilla. Dry with vibrant fruit and also nice balance brought forward by supple tannins and gentle acids. My note: Juicy and dripping with savoury dark flavours of black fruit, bacon fat and smoke. Very delicious for the price.
Syrah food pairings: grilled red meats.

|Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:|
The 2007 Viña Chocalán Syrah Reserva is full bodied with nice aromas of integrated blackberry, black cherry, coffee and cedar. Tannins are dusty and refined (decant for 30 min) and the finish is medium and chalky. It will get better as it ages for the next 5 or so years. My impression: NICE, 90 pts - great value. Tasted Jan/11.
