Julia Kelada rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

I was so fortunate to attend a wine tasting recently of the Villa Maria Vine Yards from New Zealand.

The first wine that we started our tasting with was the 2014 Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc. From the vine yards in Marlborough where there are high sunshine hours and a cooling ocean breeze.

The colour of this wine is light and brilliant. On the nose the aromas are frisky, green grass notes, delicate flowers and citrus.

On the palate, the flavours are incredibly fresh. A perfect acidy starts off and balances out with great fruits of gooseberry, passion fruit and melon. There is a slight vegetal note of mild asparagus as an undertone and the wine finishes crips and clean.

This is a perfectly presented Sauvignon Blanc, fruity, medium bodied, dry and a wonderful wine that could be drunk with or without food. A wonderful " drink just as is," wine!

Bottoms up!

Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Nov 23, 2014: Pale straw with green hue. Nose shows gooseberry, passion fruit, citrus grapefruit, grassy and a little mineral. Mouthwatering, medium light body, a touch of sweetness under the citrus acidity - lemon, grapefruit, gooseberry, long finish. Lovely, refreshing Marlborough Sauv blanc that makes a great patio sipper or pair with citrus accented salad.
