Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Zýme first produced their 100% Oseleta (red wine) in 2001 and with each subsequent vintage as they came closer to achieving their desired quality objective they added an extra letter to Oseleta on the label, having started with only two letters "Oz" in their first vintage in 2001, and fully achieving their objective in 2008 after learning how best to tame and showcase this powerful grape along the way.

Oseleta, a small flavour packed grape that's used for its rich colour and tannins that contributes to many of the famous blended wines in Valpolicella, is wonderful when paired with rich protein dishes like roast beef or wild boar stew.

The 2009 vintage is a beautiful expression of this small indigenous grape from Verona. After three years in oak, it spent one year in bottle prior to release. It's richly flavoured, well structured, with loads of integrated tannins. Decant two hours prior to service and don't be shy to cellar this beauty for 10-15 years and enjoy the evolution as the dark fruit evolves and the tannins soften. Tasted September 2016. 91 points. Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
