This dark and marauding red wine displays aromas of coffee, mocha, dark chocolate and espresso on the nose followed by fleshy black plums on the palate. Umberto Cesari is considered one of Romagna's finest wine producers. He led the way with exports around the world, helping to familiarize wine lovers with the region. A muscular wine, right up to the flavour punch on the finish.

Sangiovese food pairings: hard cheeses, pasta, salami Toscana.

Reviews and Ratings

Philippe Perreault - Sommelier rated this wine as 81/100 with the following review:

Deep garnet color.

A nose of mocha, plum, vanilla and coffee.

On the palate, this wine is muscular, full-bodied and long.

Pair it with a rack of lamb or any kind of red meat.

Serve it at 15-17 degrees.

Can be aged up to 8 years.
Umberto Cesari has a deft hand with Sangiovese, a signature Italian red wine. Dark fruit, spices, loaded with dark chocolate from oak aging. - Community Wine Reviews
