Give this baby more cellar time and it will reward you richly. Decant 1-2 hours when opening it. This is a robust Niagara red wine blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot grapes. It was aged for 40 months in seasoned French oak barrels. Juicy, deep, rich and flavourful with dark fruit and not too much oak. Pair with a rare steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

2012 was a great year for Niagara, and this Estate Red from Two Sisters demonstrates what a good grape growing year can do for wine makers.
Aromas of dark fruit, vanilla and a hint of mint on the nose, balanced acidity and tannin, with a lengthy fruit finish. Perfect with barbecued meals.
Tasted as Taste Ontario Ottawa, March 29, 2017.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Tasted in 2020. Aromas of ripe red raspberry, black cherry, blackberry, along with some hints of oak and smoke. Smooth, full bodied, with medium+ acidity, and tons of ripe berry. Still quite bright and fresh. Enjoy with grilled pork and vegetables.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A decent blend of cabernet, merlot, and cab franc. Very food friendly and a nice table wine
Through attentive vineyard block selection, blending trials and barrel aging extended to an incredible 40 months, our 2012 Estate Red Reserve has much to offer. This reserve wine presents a complex 70/30 Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot blend from extremely low yield vineyards that is both exceptionally generous and pleasurable. After another 20 months of bottle aging, the result is an Old-World style red with outstanding depth of flavour and complexity. While playing to the strength of the historic 2012 vintage, this approachable but complex wine shows even more rich colour and intense flavours. Scents of rosemary with underlying aromas of strawberry and sweet spice. On the palate, dark berry fruit is enhanced by hints of dark chocolate and tobacco wrapped up in velvety tannins. A rich and balanced interplay of ripe, Cabernet Sauvignon softened by Merlot. Ideal with rich, bone-in roasts, grilled sausages, lamb and intense cheeses. - Winery
