Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This wine contrasts the winery's namesake benefactor.  The wine is nuanced and deftly crafted, whereas Donald Trump is as controversial as he is opinionated, to put it diplomatically.  His winery in Monticello AVA (Jefferson's home and an historic viticultural area) is a great place to look for quality sparkling wine. The area is hilly, with a lot of continentality - a good place for growing grapes that you need to harvest earlier (as you do when making sparkling).
This wine spent three years en tirage - gaining some nice autolytic notes.  It is still very light and bright, at this point - aging slowly and gracefully.
Pale lemon colouration, with small, persistent bubbles.
The aromas have hints of pear and apple blossom. Honey and an autolytic note reminding one of flakey pastry.
Refreshing mineral/acid balance. Lots of peach, apple, and pear replays.  Subtle honey and leesiness on the finish.  Extremely dry.
This could potentially age a further 5ish years.  Compare it to a cremant from the Bourgogne - grown on marl and limestone to give mineral & acid tension.
Save a bottle for his second term in 2020?
