Love the cedar brush, savoury notes on the top of this wine followed by fleshy black fruit. Terrific balance and complexity, especially at this price. Full-bodied, smooth and a real party pleaser. Wow.

Reviews and Ratings

Fav Wines rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This medium bodied unoaked Malbec is a clear winner in my book. With hints of cherry, smoke and plum this well balanced red definately deserves an Oscar nomination for taste. A smooth well balanced wine that most people will enjoy. Pair this wine with red meat and you will not be disappointed.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Aromas of floral bouquet and smoke with flavors of fleshy red plums, cherries and blackberries.
Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The 2013 Trapiche Pure Malbec, sourced from foothill vineyards in Uco valley and crafted without any use of oak, has attractive aromas of earthy blackberry and black cherry on the nose and blackberry, red currant and subtle stems on the palate. It is a full bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with refreshing acidity, refined/dusty tannins and a medium finish. This is a food friendly wine that goes well with hard cheese or steak; drink now and for the next few years (composite cork enclosure). My impression: quite NICE, 89 pts – recommended for its quality and value – excellent complexity rarely found in unoaked wines and should find its place to many cellars for short term cellaring. Tasted in Sep/14 at 'iYellow’s Trapiche tasting with the winemaker Sergio Eduardo Casé and Carla Castorina' http://grapeselections.com/grapeselections/wine-reviews/.

Nov 22, 2014: Deep purple, lifted nose of currant, floral, pepper, mineral
Medium bodied, resh and fruity with, currant, floral notes and peppery/spicy. Nicely balanced and well worth trying to see what Malbec can offer when all oak influence has been stripped away. Nicely done.
Nick Onischuk - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The Trapiche Pure Malbec 2013 this wine is one hundred percent Malbec and one hundred percent worth a try. A medium bodied fruity wine that is soft and smooth. On the nose and palate you get dark berry fruit, cherries, spice and a slight floral component. Great value! Tasted on February 1, 2014 (88/100)
