Trapiche Astica Merlot Malbec 2008
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
Trapiche Astica Merlot Malbec 2008 Wine Review
Vintages Wine Panel: Medium ruby colour; ripe raspberry, strawberry and a slight mintiness on the nose; coffee, blackberry and a mild earthiness on the palate. My note: Fantastic value for the money! Deliciously ripe black fruit, vanilla smoke and dark spices. Full-bodied goodness delivered in every glass. Very satisfying. 4.4/5 Merlot Malbec food pairings: beef Wellington, veal chops, roast beef sandwich, roast duck, grilled chicken, pork or steak, tomato-sauce pastas.
