Smoky and dark yet elegant. Brooding black fruit on the nose. Underneath and on the palate there's a sensual layer of black fleshy ripe fruit and dark spices. Oh yes! Classic Amarone with some violets and black cherry liqueur on the finish. Best consumed with hearty meat dishes and conversation.

Amarone Della Valpolicella food pairings: borscht, beef, lentil patties, osso buco.

Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

Amarone, the 'bad boy' of the wine world based on it's heady combination of extraordinary fruit concentration and high alcohol. This one, from small, artisan producer Tommasi is powerful yet balanced. A must-try experience of pure plums, raisins, chocolate and leather.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
