Tinhorn Creek Vineyards Cabernet Franc 2008
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
Tinhorn Creek Vineyards Cabernet Franc 2008 Wine Review
A round, smooth, full-bodied red with generously rich aromas of dark plums and berries. This wine spent 12 months in the barrel aging, and as a result, has a rich, toasty finish infused with vanilla smoke and tobacco. Lovely! 4.4/5 Cabernet Franc food pairings: chicken or beef shish-kabobs or burgers, BBQ meats, chili, mac & cheese, lasagna.

|In 2008 our Cabernet Franc grapes were harvested at a chilly 10-12 degrees Celsius. As they came in they were hand sorted to remove any non-grape materials such as leaves and petioles. After crushing and destemming the Cabernet Franc was cold soaked on its skins for three days prior to the yeast being added. It was then fermented at temperatures not exceeding 26 degrees Celsius. After fermentation the juice was pressed off at dryness and placed in French and American oak barrels for 12 months. The Cabernet Franc was blended together prior to bottling.|
