A superb Ontario red wine that takes its lead from Bordeaux in the grape blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Although the 2011 vintage is overshadowed by 2010 and 2012, this wine performs admirably well. Classic aromas of blackcurrant, cassis and some herbal nuances with toasty oak on the finish. Polished tannins, mouth-watering acidity: perfect for lamb with rosemary.

Blend - Meritage food pairings: grilled red meats prepared medium-rare to rare; two to four year old Canadian cheddar and crusty baguette; rich beef stews; leg of lamb..

Dianne Fisher Sommelier, ISG rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

This is a blend of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc that has been hand harvested. I am really impressed with the structure of this wine and its price point at $24! Full and mouth coating with notes of black cherry, currant, chocolate and spice.

Louise Wilson ISG Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This rich, well structured wine offers velvety berry fruit wrapped in luxurious spicy oak. Ready to enjoy, but has the concentration to develop over the next 5 years. Perfect with porchetta and roasted potatoes. Tasted March 2014.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
