Reviews and Ratings

Jeff Osborne rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This unique "kiln Dried" (partially dehydrated grapes) wine is quite rich is both aromas and flavors. Rich scents and flavors of Cooked plum, blackberry jam, and a hint of pepper and spice. This wine is a local favorite in the Niagara region and a personal favorite when I'm in the area.
Enjoy with most hard cheeses, Mac & Cheese, Duck, or lean beef.
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Medium brick color. Intense aroma of candied fruit, cooked cherries, and stew plums. There is also the distinct smokiness of heavy toast Hungarian oak. The mouth is mellow and dry, with little tannins, but it is not flabby. It tastes of cooked prunes, stewed bing cherries, and mincemeat. Medium fruity finish. This wine would be a great companion for a Holiday Season meal of turkey and cranberries with mashed potatos and gravy. Better yet a the sweet smoke of the wine would be wonderful with duck or goose.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
