Reviews and Ratings

A straightforward, light-bodied floral white wine with notes of lime blossom. Pair with fresh seafood. MINE: This Niagara winery makes extensive use of the Ripasso style whereby the grapes from the 66% Riesling in the blend are re-passed over the dried skins of the 34% Chardonnay to add more heft and weight to the wine. OTHER: Paul Cebo rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review: Awesome wine! OTHER: Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: A unique blend of Riesling and Chardonnay, two grapes that Ontario's renowned cool climate excels in. The Foreign Affair Winery, as the pioneer in Canadian appassimento winemaking, have added even more complexity to this wine by re-passing the juice over partially-dried Chardonnay skins, just as is done with 'baby Amarone' (Ripasso) wines in Verona Italy after making the iconic Amarone wines. The nose shows wildflower honey, crisp yellow apple, and white pepper. Delicious orchard fruit on the palate; this dry and lively textured wine would be ideal with grilled seafood, tangy BBQ'd chicken, fish tacos, or just chilled on a patio. Terrific value, this will be a very popular white wine for patio season 2016. 89 points. Tasted April 2016. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca. OTHER: Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: A trailblazing wine with scrumptious flavours, crisp acidity and even a little body. This wine is a cool blend of Riesling and Chardonnay grapes that have been partially dried and vilified in the "ripasso" style. The nose shows inviting fresh peach, apricot, ripe yellow apple and citrus notes. The palate is off-dry, rich and shows complex concentrated stone fruit and citrus notes. Enjoy with a saucy Pad Thai or chicken satay. Tasted May 2016. @sommsosa @bespoketastings. OTHER: An enchanting blend of Riesling and Chardonnay made in the "ripasso" style famous in Veneto, Italy, this off-dry, bistro-style beauty offers notions of zesty lime, apple and apricot. Bright acidity evens out the sweetness on the long, vibrant finish. Chill and sip on its own, or with sushi or spring rolls. (Vintages panel, March 2017). - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
