Natalie's Score: 90/100Vintages Wine Panel: This supple Merlot comes from the Black Sage vineyard and shows why wines from this property are so desirable. Aged in a combo of French and American oak for 18 months, this latest Merlot is brimming with ripe black fruit, licorice, smoke, mocha and savory herbs. Dry, medium full-bodied with a round texture and enough tannins to balance the soft fruit flavors. My note: Quite frankly, one of Canada’s best Merlots. Rich, dark, brooding with lovely velvety layers of black plums, blackberries and some dark spices on the finish. A superb effort.
Merlot food pairings: grilled lamb chops, roasted pork tenderloin.
