Reviews and Ratings

Mario Cagnetta rated this wine as 80/100 with the following review:

If you don’t like white wine too bold, here is the right one for you. Studert-Prum Riesling Kabinett 2014 has only 9.5% alcohol percentage like typical Rieslings from Mosel region around the Mosel river, one of the best areas in Germany for this wonderful grape. In German classification of wine, Kabinett is just one of the six ways to classify the Qualitatswein Mit Predicat (Qmp), the best quality wine from Germany. The other names are "Spatlese", "Auslese", "Beerenauslese" and "Trockenbeernauslese". This classication is based on the ripeness of the grapes and of course, the quality of the fruits. Kabinett usually is a delicate wine not so high in alcohol. Studert-Prum Riesling is exactly what you can expect from a German Riesling except from the fact that the mineral flavours are not so prominent like many other wines in the market from this country. Very fresh wine, highly recommended for Thai food, where the acidic presence of lime is very predominant or for an aperitif especially during the summertime.
Visual examination: crystal clear in limpidity, with a straw yellow color and moderately consistent.
Olfactory examination: moderately intense, moderately complex, it has a fine quality with a wide aroma of fruits and minerals that starts with nectarines to arrive to clover honey and a little nuance of anise and licorice.
Taste-olfactory examination: medium sweet wine, moderately warm, moderately smooth with a good presence of acids. Balanced wine, moderately intense and moderately persistent in the mouth with a fine quality. A light wine ready to drink, harmonious for this type of Riesling.
