Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
Stratus 2006 Wine Review
Vintages Wine Panel: This ultra-chic winery is devoted to the art of the blend. Master winemaker J.L. Groux uses seven grape varieties to assemble this flagship red and to capture the very best each vintage has to offer. My note: A consistently great producer in Niagara, Stratus has created a lovely red blend for this vintage: bursting with tart cranberry, beetroot and redcurrant notes. Mouth-watering acidity and a supple texture with accented oak notes. 4.4/5
