Vintages Wine Panel: The St. Francis Winery has a well-earned reputation for creating boldly flavourful, fruit-forward wines that showcase the unique terroir of Sonoma. This one shows intense notes of cassis, blackberry and cedar, with accents of tobacco and spice on the nose. The palate is layered and complex, adding vanilla and coffee to the mix. The tannins are beautifully harmonized en route to a lovely, medium-long, spicy finish. Delicious. My note: dark as night and just as mysteriously intriguing. Aromas of black fruit, smoke and dark spices. Full-bodied and supple. Will benefit from cellar time. Be sure to decant it for 1-2 hours.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: veal tenderloin, grilled lamb.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
