Generous oak with fleshy ripe cherries. Smooth and full-bodied. For those who love power pinots. I can see the starry night as I take another sip.

Pinot Noir food pairings: planked salmon on the grill.

Darlene Myers CAPS Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The Marlborough region of New Zealand is known for 2 things.. Fantastic Sauvignon Blanc and delicious Pinor Noir. The 2009 Spy Valley Pinot Noir did not disappoint. Silky and seductive with flavors of cherries and spice and a hint of floral. I had this with Ran-Cher Acres Chevre cheese and it was fantastic. Great for any meal, or sharing with friends.
Medium red. Ripe cherry and raspberry aromas complemented by mocha and pungent spices. Juicy, spicy and nicely delineated, with a lovely high-toned sweetness and a distinctly sappy quality. I’d give this vibrant pinot a year or so to absorb its acidity. Score: 89 Source: Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar
