Attractive cherry pie nose with a hint of smoke. Full-bodied and supple and lip-smacking delicious. Try it with combination pizza or spicy sausages. Nice finish.

Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore food pairings: pizza topped with steak strips and garlic, spicy sausage , prime rib roast, hearty winter stew.

Reviews and Ratings

The Speri Family boasts more than 150 years of winemaking history using only their own grapes. Now under the stewardship of the fifth generation, the influence of the pedigree of their grapes and talents can be found in every glass. This 2011 offers aromas of ripe blackberry, stone fruit, vanilla root and herbs. Creamy with a depth of ripe fruit on the palate and a savory edge and chewy tannins. Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
