Savoury, mouth-watering and delicious! Tart black smoky fruit and layers of sensuous pleasure. One of our best producers in Ontario. This organic wine has just 6 mg/l of free sulphur.

Cabernet Franc food pairings: pasta bolognese, meat stews, grilled steaks.

Reviews and Ratings

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A hint of the signature Cab franc aroma over smoky, spicy, plums. It's mouth watering with lots of black pepper in the taste, as well as fine tannins. Pairs very well with barbecued pork chops. An excellent Ontario Cabernet Franc in general, and an exceptional value.
Inviting aromas of black cherry and blackberry embroidered with wisps of licorice, cola and smoke set the stage for a ripe, round wine simply bursting with dark fruit. Youthful tannins provide good traction. This is a very nicely made Cab Franc to tuck away in the cellar and drink over the next 5 years, or decant and enjoy tonight. Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
