Fantastic for the money! Full-bodied with a streak of acidity that holds together the fleshy dark fruit flavours. Full-bodied and layered. Shiraz food pairings: marinated steaks, mild Thai beef curry.

SMEE: I’ve just had an apostrophe. CAPTAIN HOOK: I think you mean an epiphany. (From the movie Hook, 1991.) While no evidence exists that this wine is a favourite of pirates – fictional or otherwise – the real hook is that at this price, you won’t need to part with many doubloons. Soft, plush, creamy-textured wine delivering a wave of sweet black fruit, licorice spice and rich chocolate pudding. It’s got some body and wears its curves well. Source: Vintages Wine Panel
