Savoury, meaty mocha and dark chocolate on this nose of this delicious and full-bodied Washington state Merlot. Supple and smooth. Soft jazz, easy-listening red wine.

Merlot food pairings: Brazilian-style flank steak, rack of BBQ ribs, veal Porterhouse, grilled lamb, cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is a Washington appellation to watch - the warm Wahluke Slope is perfect for ripening Merlot, like this gorgegous, plush, Seven Falls concoction. Tasted blind, it was a wine group favourite. Plummy, smokey and rich with hints of Italian leather, sip on its own or pair with lean elk, bison or beef.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Beautiful deep colour on this Merlot and great flavours to match. Rich deep blackberry aromas, along with mocha and some smokiness from oak aging. Full bodied, and smooth, tannins are soft, but add structure to this wine. Dark, fruit flavours and smokiness linger, as the finish is medium to long. Great for rich red meats, maybe a prime rib or braised beef.
This Washington state plushy and smoky red wine offers tremendous value in the glass, from its decadent black fruit flavours to the mocha spice finish. Wine grapes for this Merlot are grown on the warm Wahluke Slope - the perfect terroir for ripening the Merlot. - Community Wine Reviews
