Reviews and Ratings

Roger rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Sequana Vineyards is a joint venture between Pinot genius James MacPhail (MacPhail Family Wines) and the Hess Collection. Hess let’s James do his Pinot thing and the result is a delicious full bodied Pinot Noir with complex flavors of black cherry, smokiness, spice and plum with even a hint of bacon. Get your lips around anything James MacPhail puts in a bottle.
Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

I loved this Pinot Noir with its gorgeous flavors of black cherries, mint and a herbal earthiness. Plums and spice on the palate with cola notes and oak. Well structured, well done Pinot Noir.
Winemaker James MacPhail brings his touch to this ripe, delicious Pinot Noir. It explodes in raspberries and cherries, but it’s no more fruit bomb. Shows fine acidity and even a dusting of tannins that provide structural integrity. Really nice now, and should develop over the next 4-6 years. Score: 91 Source: Steve Heimoff, Wine Enthusiast

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
