Oh yum. Comfort me with mourvèdre and other old vine grapes. Rich, complex and deep: exactly what you want in a partner (and a wine). Full-bodied and smooth and inviting. The Schild family has been in the Barossa Valley for more than 60 years. Lots of complexity, depth and vibrancy in this richly rewarding wine.

Grenache Mourvèdre Shiraz food pairings: rare steak.

More Wine Reviews and Ratings

Louise Wilson ISG Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

The bouquet inspires thoughts of grilled pepper steak, meaty and spicy, followed by perfectly balanced ripe berry and plum fruit on the palate. Rich and satisfying, with a full body, firm, but entirely approachable tannins and a fantastic length. Enjoy through 2016. Tasted Feb 2014.
This vintage of Schild's robust red blend is comprised of 55% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre and 20% Shiraz grapes for extra depth and complexity. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
