Santa Margherita Chianti Classico 2008 Wine Review
Natalie's Score: 87/100Lots of acidity that cries out for a hearty meat dish. Black fruit with smoke and tannins. Decant 2 hours.
Chianti Classico food pairings: thick, peppery grilled steak, homemade pizza featuring steak strips.

The Santa Margherita Chianti Classico 2008 is a great full bodied red wine. Full of Cherry and fruit with a hint of smokiness...this paired well with the spicy Chinese food. Tasted October 24,2013 (91/100)
|Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:|
A nice solid Chianti with lots of leather, dried hers, tobacco, black pepper and sour cherry. Nice acidity and some bright tannins that could do with a touch of age to soften them a bit.
|A brooding and compact Chianti Classico, it features tar, plum, black cherry, dried herbs and earthy aromas. Quite dry with a little more weight on its frame than many Chiantis, it’s mouthfilling and flavourful with dense black fruit, earth and leather notes along with some peppery spice. The tannins are fairly serious. Source: Vintages Wine Catalogue.|
