Price: $12.95

Drink: 2009-2012

Bottle size: 750 ml

Alcohol: 13.5%

Sweetness: Extra Dry

Wine Type: Red Wine

Winery: Santa Carolina

Agent: Charton Hobbs Inc

Natalie's Score: 88/100

This robust red is proof that you can give like Santa and save like Scrooge this holiday.  Gorgeously rich aromas of blackberry and plum are just what you need to get you through the seventh rerun of Miracle on 34th Street as well as tone-deaf carolling. This deeply delicious red will also pair well with grilled steak and back ribs.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled steak, back ribs, brisket, roast beef.

Reviews and Ratings

Malcolm Lamont - WSET Adv, CSW rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Plum, pepper and Cassis come up out of the glass in a fairly assertive way. This King of grapes Cabernet doesn't let down it's title. It is big, though nicely balanced for the price. I would certainly give this wine another go on a cool day.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
