Santa Ana La Mascota Chardonnay 2008
Santa Ana La Mascota Chardonnay 2008 Wine Review
Vintages Wine Panel: This carefully crafted Chardonnay is a steal at this price. The grapes are hand-picked, then sorted before they are crushed and fermented in temperature-controlled tanks. About 30% of the wine goes through malolactic fermentation on its lees, giving the wine a soft round mouth feel and added complexity. Aged for nine months in a mix of French and American oak, this rich and complex wine features ripe pear, pineapple and subtle vanilla-oak flavors. My note: A medium-bodied, buttery Chardonnay that’s not heavy. Hazelnuts and green apples. 4.4/5 Chardonnay food pairings: broiled lobster, grilled chicken, planked salmon.
