Thrillingly delicious! Aromas of black cherry, sun-dried tomato, black olive, smoke and earth. Smooth, full-bodied and mouth-wateringly tasty. A long, satisfying finish that will make you believe you're basking under the Tuscan sun. A blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah grapes. Pair with: lasanga, meat lovers pizza, sausages, pasta with tomato sauce.

The 2007 Ruffino Il Ducale is a medium bodied wine, with notes of integrated raspberry, cedar/thyme, coconut and vanilla. Tannins are refined (decant for 1 to 2 hours) and the finish is medium to long and smooth. Good to drink now and for the next 5 years. My impression: NICE, 88.5 pts - a bit costly in my view. Tasted Apr/11.

A complex wine, I love the blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah. The three together make for a well structured wine with lots of plums, cherries and chocolate. Smooth and velvety, the wine boasts fruity flavors, soft tannins and a pleasantly persistent finish with hints of pepper and vanilla.
