Gorgeous cherry liqueur runs through the heart of this well-priced wine with supple layers of dark plums and some spice. Judicious use of oak is woven well throughout. Perfect for movie night.

Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

The state Grenache Shiraz is bright ruby red in color with red summer fruit and brambly aromas on the nose. The palate is rich and full bodied with tastes of all spice and clove. Soft velvety tannins enhance the creamy finish. Enjoy with pasta, pizza or lamb dishes.

Vintage Conditions: Fruit for this wine was sourced from selected vineyards in South Eastern Australia. The 2008 vintage was warm to hot, with a pro-longed heatwave in mid-March. However, grapes picked before the elevated temperatures were delivered to the winery in excellent condition, resulting in good varietal definition and balanced flavours.
Maturation: Parcels of this wine were matured for 12 months on a combination of French and American oak.
Colour: Dark crimson with black cherry hues.
Nose: Strawberry and raspberry on the nose are typical of Grenache, with hints of darker plum fruit evident from Shiraz. Attractive pepper and spice are also evident with the faintest touch of oak.
Palate: A lovely combination of ripe raspberry and cherry combine with plum and blueberry notes, while spice and savoury characters are also evident. Oak is merely a
suggestion, while there is attractive texture and length, with soft, supple tannins.
