Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

For any of you following my reviews you will know that recently I was so privileged to be able to attend the tasting of Rolland Galarreta wines. A marriage of France and Spain in an incredible delivery! I fell in love with each and every wine that we tasted, red and white, old and young!
This wine ...the Ribera del Duero 2010 was by far, in my opinion, the greatest of the wines presented and i called it the "Roi "... the king of the wines. At $26.70 this wine is worth its weight. I loved it so much i bought a case!
85% Tempranillo and 15% Merlot..... well with a wine master from st Emillion what do you expect! So here comes my confession, im not a big Merlot lover but i have never tasted such luxury. Cue converted Merlot drinker! Merci Monsieur Rollland.
Okay, my tastings are not going to be like others, but that's me. The point is that i smelt the sea....yup, I said sea! If we want to be particular, i smelt sea urchin and sea weed and i can assure you that this vine yard is no where near the ocean!
On the nose there were intense black cherries, warm spices and herbal notes. then it was there, the sea energy....what can i tell you, i smelt sea urchin, and i loved it, it was just so relevant !
On the palate this was a rich complex delivery of flavours. Cherries, plums, fig compote. Herbal lavender notes make their introduction before bitter dark chocolate and spices of black pepper. A Dry intense wine with great tannic struture and a lengthy finish... wow can i give it 100??? okay ill be conservative and give it a 94!
Bottom up!

If you liked the Rolland Galarreta Ribera del Duero 2010, you might also like these wines:
