Rodney Strong Merlot 2006 Wine Review
Natalie's Score: 89/100Vintages Wine Panel: Medium ruby hue. Lovely bouquet brimming with scents of blackberry, plum, sour/red cherry, mineral and hickory. Good aroma replays on the dry, medium-full bodied, plush yet elegantly fruity palate. Gentle tannins, bright acidity, and great harmony here. Terrific barbecue wine, especially with steak, or cellar for 2-3 years. My note: A Silver Medal winner at the 2010 Winemaker Challenge International Wine Competition in San Diego. Savoury and juicy with lovely balance. Fleshy dark plums and some spices and dried herbs. Absolute yum!
Merlot food pairings: steak.
