Natalie's Score: 91/100

A dark, mouth-watering Italian red wine with black fruit and toasty oak aromas. Lots of dark plum notes and mocha on the mid-palate and finish. This robust Chianti Classico is a red wine made from the Sangiovese grape. Pair with pasta in a meat sauce or grilled meats. Decant 1 hour. Polished tannins, good concentration of flavour.

Chianti Classico food pairings: mince sirloin, sausage and cheese pizza, Tuscan rabbit, sausage cassoulet.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

An interesting wine that smells modern but tastes more traditional. An overtly fruity nose with just a kiss of oak is the bouquet here. The taste shows a more restrained level of cherry fruit and the oak is barely discernible. Traditional levels of dryness.
Produced by Famiglia Zingarelli this is a dark, robust mouth-watering Italian Sangiovese red with black fruit, dried herbs and toasty oak aromas. Drink now or cellar for five years. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
