The Four in Hand Barossa Shiraz 2012 has quite the story on how it was named (look it up : )) and is equally enjoyable on the palate. This smooth shiraz features aromas and flavours of plum, blackberries, strawberries, dark chocolate and spice. Bottom line – this is a great shiraz at a great price! Tasted January 16, 2014 (91/100)

Chris Hancock, MW (Hon.) was the winemaker on this impressive Aussi Shiraz. Although one can't compare this to the six vintages of Penfolds Grange he has made in the past, it is a great effort. This medium-full style Shiraz exhibits layers of dark fruit, blackberries, bitter chocolate, and baking spices. Drinking great now and it will continue to for upwards of 7 years, but why wait!? Re-tasted July 2015:
Remarkably intense nose showing dark fruit, plum, mocha, smoked meat, pepper, soy sauce, and tangy BBQ sauce. The palate is rich and focused. Loads of dark berries, chocolate, and smokey brisket, with great structure. A huge wine at a small price! An Aussie Shiraz from Australia's most famous Shiraz region, Barossa Valley, it's built to enjoy with BBQ fare, the smokier the better. Tangy ribs, gourmet burgers, smoked brisket, or smoked duck wings. Fantastic wine, terrific value. Tasted July 2015. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca

Refreshing is not a word I would use as a descriptor for Aussie Shiraz. However, what IS refreshing with this Aussie Shiraz is the medium-body. You can still taste the Barossa heat in this Shiraz with all of it's ripe dark fruit, pepper, cake spice, oak, dark chocolate and tannins upon approaching 14%ABV. This Shiraz is smooth and easy sipping. Not all Shiraz has that capability.Winemaker suggests this wine will age comfortably for the next 5-7 years. It's tasting great right out of the gate!
Vintages TBD $24.95

This Shiraz was developed by Rob Oatley after he retired; he was restless at home and his wife told him to get back to work!
This mid-weight Shiraz was harvested from vines grown throughout the Barossa Valley. It shows strawberries and dark fruits, chocolate, with hint of mint, pepper, moderate oak and touch of licorice. Fine tannins.
