Crisp, dry and fresh with a lemon-lime lift through the core. Very deft/light use of oak preserves the refreshment of this wine and its versatility with food.

Reviews and Ratings

Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

When I tasted this wine, I liked it so much I bought 2 bottles. Dry and crisp with fresh flavors of lime, honeydew and lemongrass. This wine is 94% Sauvignon Blanc and 6% Semillion. A great wine I am looking forward to drinking again soon.
Mondavi adds 10% Semillon to round out the Sauvignon Blanc. Sixty percent of the wine is barrel fermented, and then all of it is aged, sur lie, for a period of time in French oak. This 2009 Fume’ Blanc exhibits a nice creaminess balanced with good acidity, delivering floral aromas and flavors of tropical fruits including passion fruit, guava and grapefruit. These flavors continue on to the nice finish. Source: Steve Ferree, examiner.com

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
