Reviews and Ratings

Nina rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Dark cherry core with lighter rim.
On the nose is very interesting, first barnyard, woodsy aromas, then smoked sausage, spice and vanilla.
On the palate dry, rich, with good finish. Taste is little different from the nose. Little fruit. very delicious, can age in a bottle couple of years more.
Rich Italian pasta and meat dish would be a great pair.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is the 2nd (or 3rd?) time they've brought this wine back into the LCBO. Dynamic with food such as pasta, pizza, or braised meat dishes. It's a bit of a brute still, with its black plum, bramble fruit and spice. Solid oak and tannin doesn't get in the way, but does tell you this is a wine with some testosterone. Drink now through 2018. 90 Points. (ottawawinejournal.com)
