Natalie's Score: 92/100

This full-bodied red wine is a blend of two-thirds Zinfandel, then Petite Sirah, and a splash of Carignane grapes. It features rich, expressive aromas on the nose of black fruit and smoke. Towering and well-structured, give it time in the cellar. Decant for 2 hours. A black-fruit-infused finish. Lots of complexity and depth.

Zinfandel food pairings: kobe beef.

Reviews and Ratings

Lynn Van Der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Sex in a glass! Aromas of leather, bacon, smoke, blueberries and raspberries follow through on the palate striking a balance between tannins and acidity, and holding on for a long raspberry finish. Yum! It's swear-out-loud good!
For this vintage only half of the typical vineyard parcels of grapes were used in the final wine blend. The 2011 blend is 82% Zinfandel, 16% Petite Sirah and 2% Carignane grapes. - Winery

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
