Some say there is no little wine, well... this one is a good example. The quality of this Chardonnay from the Pays d'Oc (IGP)is surprising for this price range and it is available broadly in the SAQ network even the SAQ Depôt, where you get 15% off when you buy more than a case.
So what to sat about this "vin de soif"? I first tasted it during my sommelier class a night my class was tasting wines in black glasses. The wine was young with a nice acidity, but with some layers of complexity and a nice vanilla and pear aromas.
Our teacher had us taste it the next night and we still thought it was a really good quality Chardonnay, we even thought it was refined and we gave it the same praise as we did for the Pouilly-Fuissé we blindtasted the same night.
I am not telling you it is as good as a Pouilly-Fuissé and, for sure, this wine doesn't have the same potential for aging, in fact it is a wine to drink now and all summer.
Saturday night, I had it with lobster and it paired really well.
