Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
Reif Estate Meritage 2010 Wine Review
A meaty, robust red with dark fruit and earthy aromas. Just the right amount of oak. Decant for 1-2 hours for maximum pleasure. 4.4/5 Meritage food pairings: grilled red meats with roasted vegetables or Portobello mushrooms.

|Mark Cochrane Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 4.5/5 with the following review:|
I tried the Reif Estates Meritage at the Taste Ontario 2013 event in Ottawa and I was pleasantly surprised by this nice blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. This Meritage was stored mostly in French oak and some Hungarian oak and reveals flavours of dark fruit and some pepper. The tannins are a little more refined which gives it a nice softness. It's not overpowering but it has a full bodied feel to it. This Meritage would pair well with a beef ribs or stew.
|The juice pressed from clean, ripe fruit underwent fermentation for 18 days, using selected yeast. Oak barrel aging in predominantly French Oak with 10% Hungarian and American Oak which contribute to the distinct intensity of this superior red wine. Blend consists of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc.|
