A terrific wine for the money! Full-bodied, juicy and mouth-watering. Luscious layers of dark fruit and berries that finishes long, smoky and satisfying. This wine is a blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, syrah, petite sirah and zinfandel with a few other grapes in minute amounts. This is where field blend comes from and it's a traditional method of planting different grape varieties in a vineyard rather than just one. There are notes of blackberries and plums on the finish. Supple and polished. I can taste a grilled hamburger with this wine.

More Wine Reviews and Ratings

Jeremy Sprott rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Black cherry, red berry, white pepper, dark chocolate and pleasant herbaceous notes (mint and sweet basil) notes comes through on the nose and follow through on the palate.
A nice wine to enjoy with barbequed 'mixed grill' of meat.
Such a wonderful nose. Engaging and easy-to-enjoy notes of hickory, black olive, black cherry, vanilla and dark chocolate. The palate is smooth, flavourful and succulent. There is a delicious sunniness to the red fruit. This is a real crowd-pleaser if ever there was one; it seems that everyone actually does (or will) love Raymond. Serve this at your next barbecue. Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
