Malcolm Lamont - WSET Adv, CSW rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Only declared in the best of years, this vintage port is ruby going on garnet showing its maturity. Cigar smoke, dried fruit, earthy notes, anise (black liquorice flavour), and forest floor aromas are assertive in their presence. This is an unfiltered wine so some natural and harmless sediment rests at the bottom of the glass.
Camelionly sweet on the palate with the earthy tones switching into concentrated red fruit, plum, and berry notes. This wine coats the mouth, and warms the palate!

Drink today through 2020.

Fav Wines rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This Vintage Port with its dark ruby red colour was so complex for me. Many different flavours detected including cherry, plum, black pepper, raisin and prune. Full bodied and sweet. Everyone needs to try a Port wine at least once in their lifetime. It is a very unique tasting experience! You will really enjoy this wine with a nice aged cheddar. Cheers!
Still in the flush of youth, this creamy-textured vintage Port strikes all the right notes, from complex aromas to powerful flavors. Blackberry, plum and earth notes finish long, buttressed by supple tannins. Based on the rapid maturation of the 2001 and 2002, drink this one from 2010-2020. Score: 92.
