Quails' Gate Estate Winery Gewurztraminer 2011
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
Quails' Gate Estate Winery Gewurztraminer 2011 Wine Review
Very pretty! A profusion of rose petals, baking spice and lychee aromas. Mouth-watering and vibrant. 4.4/5 Gewurztraminer food pairings: spiced red lentil soup, Asian dishes, mild curries.

|Harvested from vineyards in Central and South East Kelowna the clay and limestone soils, reminiscent of those in Alsace, give the wine a soft mineral character adding depth and body. The grapes are handpicked and whole bunch pressed prior to cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation was stopped with some residual sweetness to add texture and balance to the wine’s perky acidity. High toned spice and fruit will develop in the bottle over the next 3 years and careful cellaring of 2–5 years will be rewarded.|
