Quails' Gate Estate Winery Chardonnay 2009
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
Quails' Gate Estate Winery Chardonnay 2009 Wine Review
Voluptuously round and generous with aromas of white peach, pear and apple. Judicious use of oak gives an additional layer of richness and toastiness to this superb wine. 4.5/5 Chardonnay food pairings: roast chicken, corn dishes.

|Our Chardonnay grapes were harvested in October 2009 from the Quails’ Gate Estate Boucherie Mountain vineyards. The rich clay and gravel soils offer mineral influences, giving the wine interest and complexity.|
The 2009 growing season provided an excellent balance of cool temperatures with good heat when needed. Our estate grown Chardonnay is 50% tank fermented and 50% barrel fermented. This combination gives the wine interest and complexity from the barrel ferment while the tank portion provides bright tropical citrus notes.
